If a potato power adapter and it would spoil what was plugged into?

I smelled electrical burning in my house. I found the culprit. It turned out the power adapter 1000 Korg keyboard of my sister. All we're doing is trying or not the keyboard still works. By the way, the Keyboard turns off but the adapter was still plugged in. Will probably still work with a new adapter or fried the unit usually in these situations too? I would appreciate any help or input.
