With EPO, CLEC supplied electronics at the customer premise (s) provide 1: N or 1:01 redundancy for each circuit delivered electronically, providing a backup unexpected electronic failures. EPO may also provide two physically separate paths between a fiber optic local client and CLEC Master Telecommunications Center (MTC) it serves. This enables CELC's and ILEC to provide both a working and protect circuit to prevent an outage caused by cut fiber optic cable failure.
